Medieval gothic rock
“True Medieval Rave” is how some people have described the Schelmish medieval line-up, and these three words are the most fitting of all when trying to describe this band's unique heady blend of deep, mind blowing drums and raucous pipes.
My favourite recent quote was when a lady phoned to enquire about booking the band for an event she was planning and said My friend heard them from three fields away when they were playing at Tewkesbury last year, so they could play acoustically at my event if it is easier for them to set up
. I had to reply that they were playing acoustically at Tewkesbury.
Schelmish are not just about loud, although you could never call them shy retiring musicians. NO, they are about sheer dynamic 100% performance. The moment they step on stage they set the way for the band to “give all” with their sheer joy at playing for enthusiastic audiences, performing not only from their own extensive original repertoire but also some pulled from both the traditional and more modern song pool.
“The Schelms” launch their way through every performance with a dynamic energy that's hard to comprehend, mixed with a humorous almost storyteller style that captivates audiences of all ages and music tastes. Maybe it's because this band has its own variety of music and presentation that is so unlike any other band in the U.K. today, maybe it is this that makes them so popular wherever and whenever they play.
